How to successfully recover your deleted messages on iPhone

You no longer need to depend on backups to find any messages that have gone to the trash on iOS 16. Here’s how to  recover deleted messages on iPhone
This might surprise you, but if Ever wanted to find and recover a deleted message on iOS 15, the only way to do that is to hope that you already have a backup of that particular message, then restore it on your iPhone. An overly complicated and time consuming process. Luckily, that’s now simplified thanks to iOS 16.
Instead of dealing with restoring a backup, you can now find and  restore deleted messages on your iPhone. with just a few taps. The process is simple, but you need to know where to look before you can recover any deleted messages. Here’s how to do it.

First find the messages you need to Recover Deleted Messages on iPhone

All your deleted messages can be found in the Messages app. To find trashed messages, open the message and  tap the Filter option  at the top left of your text string. Here you can filter your text messages by sender, unread messages, and more. However, the option you need to select is  Recently Deleted .

A list of your recent messages will appear, it will also show the phone number or contacts, the number of messages, and the days remaining until permanently deleted. This will include the entire thread of messages and individual texts being deleted. However, you will only be able to view (and recover) deleted messages if they were deleted in the last 30 days, so you must restore it before it is permanently deleted after 30 days.

However, you cannot see the content of the messages, so you will have to recover them by identifying them by contact name or phone number. Once restored, you will be able to read those messages.

Then recover deleted messages on your iPhone

If you want to  recover deleted messages on iPhone , tap the thread or message so that it is selected, tap Restore at the bottom right, then tap Recover Messages in the window. You can also recover all your deleted messages at once – this time, you don’t select any and then just tap Restore All.

Your recovered messages will appear in order from when they were sent or received, so you may have to scroll through your existing new messages to find them.
